What’s it all about?

  • Our mission is to develop Merchant Partnerships across the retail segment in CEMEA. The team engages across multiple functions within the Visa organization to bring the very best of Visa’s expertise and assets to our clients - earning well-qualified wins to drive revenue growth while building trust and growing engagement and satisfaction among teammates, partners, and clients.
  • This role will act as the regional subject‑matter authority, driving differentiated value for Visa’s top retail merchants by combining data‑driven insights, product expertise, commercialization strategy, and best‑practice replication across markets. The role will partner closely with local market teams, global product, consulting & analytics, and cross‑border solutions to accelerate growth, wallet share, and innovation in the retail ecosystem.
  • We are looking for a sales and business development expert in a B2B environment with relevant experience in credit cards issuing business.
  • You will be responsible for managing the assigned client relationships, developing new businesses and program implementations. You will also be responsible for supporting growth of retail merchants in the CEMEA region for Visa. This role requires leadership, vision, and creativity to develop the overall strategy, drive the expansion of Visa products and solutions, and lead the overall commercialization of Visa’s business development objectives. In turn deliver the best of Visa solutions to our clients and help them meeting their business objectives.
  • This role will be part of the merchant organization in Visa which sits under the broader Merchant, Global Client, Tech partners and Acquiring team. This role will collaborate with teams from functions across Visa such as solutions, consulting & analytics, finance, merchant sales, issuer relationship, customer support, and marketing. Externally, this role will collaborate with key client executives.

So what do we expect of you day to day?

  • Act as the retail SME on industry trends, payment flows and retail economics.
  • Develop and execute customized account strategy, objectives and plans to increase revenue and market share for select strategic partner accounts in CEMEA
  • Executive‑level pitches and workshops
  • RFP responses and negotiation strategy
  • Business casing and monetization models
  • Lead selected strategic regional or global retail merchant engagements directly.
  • Identify, document, and replicate winning use cases across markets and retail vertical.
  • Enable markets to move faster by providing templates, frameworks, benchmarks, and case studies.
  • Build forums and communities of practice across retail specialists.
  • Lead the account and relationship management and sales plan for these accounts, ensuring that the client’s business objectives are met
  • Support the development, negotiation and signing of proposals by working with various internal stakeholders and relationships with strategic partner executives
  • Own and manage portfolio of Merchant Partnerships within the retail vertical. Identify new and ongoing requirements, introduce new products or services, and grow the business.
  • Conduct financial and business analysis of strategic opportunities for Visa capabilities that increase revenue for both parties through a deep understanding of the partners’ business and evolving industry context, including payment strategy and solutions
  • Serve as internal and external thought leader responsible for communicating Visa's and merchant partnership vision, strategy and perspective within a rapidly evolving industry
  • Partner with peers in other functional areas - e.g., marketing, analytics, risk, innovation and across regional teams to execute projects in ways that leverage the breadth and depth of Visa's resources
  • Continuously review CEMEA landscape, identifying and developing partnerships, venture or acquisition opportunities that will position Visa as the market

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

What we’re after:

  • Relevant Bachelors degree, MBA preferred Proven ability in B2B sales, negotiating business agreements and driving commercial results in retail industry
  • Extensive experience in payment products - credit cards, pre-paid, etc
  • Portfolio P&L expertise, with analytics orientation
  • Demonstrated experience in building and leveraging strong relationships at multiple levels including C level executives of the clients
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration within a complex, cross functional and matrix environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, AI tools and agents.
