Required Qualifications

  • University degree in business, human resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • More than seven years of progressive experience in benefits, pension, disability management or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian market for group benefits and retirement programs, including pension plans, disability programs, insurance arrangements, governance and relevant employment, pension and tax requirements.
  • Demonstrated people management experience, including coaching and developing employees, managing performance and building high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and providing direction on complex operational and employee matters.
  • Experience managing external vendors, consultants and service providers.
  • Strong project management, organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex matters clearly to different audiences.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional designation or specialized education in benefits, pensions, human resources or a related discipline.
  • Experience in overseeing the administration of programs for both active employees and retirees.
  • Experience supporting benefit program budgeting, financial reporting and year-end accounting processes.
  • Experience with program governance, compliance reviews and operational controls.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
