Role overview

Join the Triage Intelligence team to build intelligence that helps Accurx understand healthcare communication across its product suite.

The current mission is to interpret patient healthcare requests and enable fast, informed decisions about the next step in a patient's care.

Work in a cross-functional group of software engineers, Data Scientists, clinicians, and a Principal Product Manager.

Challenges you'll solve

  • Own end-to-end ML system design, including data ingestion, training pipelines, deployment, and real-time monitoring.
  • Ensure AI features are performant, observable, and easy to debug.
  • Partner with Data Scientists to turn experimental code into high-quality, extensible library modules.
  • Build reusable components that improve developer efficiency and reduce cycle times.
  • Translate clinical and product objectives into computational tasks and choose deep learning, NLP, or off-the-shelf approaches.
  • Make build-versus-buy trade-offs aligned with long-term technical goals.
  • Turn one-off experiments into repeatable platform capabilities for adoption by other product teams.
  • Resolve cross-team dependencies as new, more efficient AI models are rolled out.

What you should bring

  • Extensive experience with ML techniques, such as Transformer-based NLP, deep learning, tree-based methods, and Bayesian modelling.
  • A proven record of moving models from Jupyter notebooks to high-availability production environments.
  • Experience managing data versioning and model serving.
  • Mastery of Python, C#, or Go, with a focus on extensible, modular libraries adopted by other teams.
  • Experience defining offline model metrics and online metrics for real-world behaviour and triage outcomes.
  • Ability to contribute rigorously to design and code reviews and identify risks such as data leakage or hardware constraints.

Preferred experience

  • Experience working with sensitive regulated data, including GDPR or HIPAA, and privacy-first techniques such as differential privacy or secure data handling.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools including Terraform or Kubernetes, or MLOps platforms such as SageMaker or Vertex AI.
  • Experience fine-tuning LLMs, prompt engineering, or managing large language model latency and cost trade-offs at scale.

Compensation

  • Salary range of £115,000 to £135,000 plus share options up to £30,000.

Working arrangement

  • Office-first culture with an expectation to work from the Shoreditch office three days per week.
  • Core hours are 10am to 4pm.
  • Employees may work from anywhere for up to four weeks per year.

Benefits

  • Flexible benefits covering healthcare, pension, or life insurance.
  • 28 days of holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Enhanced parental leave, fertility support, and parental loss support.
  • Free healthy breakfasts, snacks, and lunches are provided.
