Job Purpose

To support the Legal function in providing accurate and timely legal assistance to ensure EDB’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

The role is responsible for reviewing contracts and legal documents, preparing summaries and correspondence, coordinating with external counsel, and maintaining records to help safeguard the bank’s interests.

Works under the guidance of the Head of Legal to deliver effective legal and administrative support across business functions.

Key Roles And Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and processing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with EDB’s policies and relevant UAE laws.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of standard contract templates and legal forms.
  • Assist in conducting legal research on applicable laws, regulations, and precedents relevant to EDB’s activities.
  • Coordinate with external lawyers to obtain required documentation, track progress of legal cases, and follow up on submissions or court updates.
  • Prepare and maintain case files, correspondence, and legal documentation to ensure proper record-keeping and version control.
  • Review routine correspondence between EDB and external entities to identify potential legal or compliance risks.
  • Assist in maintaining the legal database and reference materials, including key legislations and legal updates.
  • Support the review and interpretation of legal clauses in contracts and highlight potential risks or irregularities for further review.
  • Follow up on legal proceedings and provide regular status updates to the Head of Legal.
  • Assist with coordination between EDB departments and external authorities, notaries, or government entities on legal matters.
  • Support in monitoring regulatory changes and updating templates or procedures as directed.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive legal information.
  • Perform any additional legal or administrative tasks assigned by the Head of Legal.
