Key Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of energy and project related legal experience gained at a respected law firm and/or in-house at an MNC (renewable energy industry preferred);
  • Solid experience in handling construction contracts, preferably, contracts for supplying wind turbines, solar, and BESS and related long-term services;
  • High level proficiency in English language is required;
  • Comfortable with oversight of commercial contracts, procurement contracts, labor & employment, litigation and regulatory compliance;
  • The candidate must be mature and able to work independently and successfully manage large-scale transactions and project teams;
  • Excellent client service and communications skills (oral and written).

Scope And Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the business team in Africa and Middle East regions to provide legal advice to their operations;
  • Develop and provide compliance related training programs and activities;
  • Working collaboratively with other corporate staffs;
  • Negotiate, draft and review commercial agreements;
  • Support business and finance team on South Africa B-BBEE certification and compliance;
  • Provide legal advice to the Human Resources and Finance teams;
  • Work collaboratively with Envision Energy in-house legal and commercial staff in other jurisdictions on projects;
  • Provide necessary training to the business on legal topics;
  • Select and manage external counsel on a cost-effective basis.
