We’re looking for a Senior Kotlin Engineer/Architect to join our team of Artisans!

The Senior Kotlin Engineer/Architect will help guide the team in building scalable, maintainable, testable, and modular automation software. They will partner closely with the Team Lead and Quality Engineers to improve the codebase, shape technical direction, establish strong engineering practices, and solve complex problems the team has not yet been able to tackle. We are also looking for someone who is AI-forward and excited about agentic engineering. As our Quality Engineers increasingly use tools like Cursor and other AI-assisted development workflows, this person should help the team use those tools effectively to achieve major gains in productivity and scalable output while maintaining code quality, architectural discipline, and long-term maintainability.

The ideal candidate is a senior Kotlin engineer or architect who has built real systems, understands how to keep codebases healthy as they grow, and enjoys mentoring engineers. They should be AI-forward, enthusiastic about agentic engineering, and capable of helping the team use tools like Cursor to achieve major gains in productivity and scalable output. They should combine AI-enabled speed with strong architectural discipline, code quality, and sound engineering judgment. They do not need to come exclusively from a QA background, but they should respect the complexity of automation engineering and be excited to help transform a Kotlin/Appium automation codebase into a more scalable, reliable, and maintainable platform. Finally, this candidate should also be an exceptional verbal communicator who thrives in a mob programming environment, encourages others, and helps the whole team become stronger engineers.

Appium experience or similar mobile/client automation tooling.

Experience with mobile automation against real physical devices.

Experience with device farms, test orchestration, flaky test reduction, or large-scale automation execution.

Android development or Android testing experience.

Gradle, CI/CD, build tooling, and test execution pipeline experience.

Experience improving legacy or organically grown automation frameworks.

Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows and how to maintain engineering quality as code output increases.

Experience mentoring teams on effective use of agentic engineering tools.

As a remote-first, digitally innovative technology consulting firm, we pride ourselves on our ability to meet the needs of our clients. As such, you may be required to travel quarterly, depending on the specific client responsibilities of your role. This position requires constant operation of a computer, various software programs and other electronic productivity tools. This position requires prolonged observation of a computer screen. Additionally, it requires regular participation in virtual meetings and training.
