Hiring a Senior Java Back-End Developer for the Engineering team to develop and maintain stable backend applications.
Salary range stated as $120,000–$140,000; cadence is not specified.
The position is based out of the Toronto office with a hybrid schedule of two office days per week.
Responsibilities
- Design secure, scalable integrations with technical and non-technical stakeholders and uphold security, compliance, and data-protection practices.
- Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and debug Java applications; optimize availability, performance, and front-end/back-end interactions.
- Use secure coding and peer reviews; monitor performance, address bottlenecks, incidents, and integration issues, and contribute to post-mortems.
- Mentor junior developers and keep current with Java, security, and architecture practices.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years in backend development and strong knowledge of Java 8 and Maven or Gradle.
- In-depth Spring experience, including Spring Boot, JPA, MVC, and Spring Security, for RESTful services.
- Experience with functional and unit testing, code coverage, static analysis such as Sonar, and BDD tools.
- Strong SQL skills, including DDL, DML, relational database design, and indexing.
- Proficiency with Git flow, Maven, NGINX, and Docker.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Cloud CI/CD, Linux and shell commands, and AWS or GCP experience are advantageous.
- Angular or React JS, Swagger or Postman, and Flyway or similar database migration tools are advantageous.
