Build server-side JVM software and distributed systems for client projects in financial technology.
Work with iterative, project-based client engagements and adapt to evolving technologies across the development stack.
Responsibilities
- Build distributed systems involving actor-based concurrency, reactive programming, distributed in-memory data grids, and advanced messaging.
- Work on server-side JVM projects and use Java or Scala ecosystem technologies such as Spring, Guice, Guava, Maven, Hibernate, and Jetty.
- Adapt to changing technologies and pick up tools across the development stack.
- Collaborate with clients and self-organizing teams to deliver innovative, quality software that solves business problems.
Required skills and experience
- 8+ years of recent hands-on experience designing and coding complex commercial-grade enterprise server-side Java applications, ideally Java 8+.
- Experience building RESTful web services; test-driven development including unit and end-to-end testing.
- Agile development experience, such as Scrum or Kanban, and experience in a CI/CD environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Math, or related work experience.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated interest in global financial markets and financial products.
