Senior Java Developer

Role overview

Development and technical leadership

• Lead application design and development through completion; serve as development lead on medium-scale projects and support larger efforts.
• Troubleshoot coding, performance, and design challenges; research root causes and resolve defects.
• Understand system requirements, information models, data structures, algorithms, runtime properties, and system dependencies.
• Help establish coding, testing, debugging, and implementation standards aligned with architecture.
• Lead design discussions and make design decisions using detailed application and technology knowledge.
• Work across the software lifecycle, including test execution, quality, implementation, and post-go-live support.

Delivery and collaboration

• Work with technology vendors on implementation plans, roadmaps, and opportunities to improve development velocity and learning.
• Communicate progress, anticipate bottlenecks, manage escalations, and identify and mitigate risks.
• Review metrics and improve development processes, test plans, operations, and concurrent project delivery.
• Share knowledge with the team and contribute to engineering forums.
• Assess risk in business decisions and support compliance with laws, policies, and control requirements.

Recommended qualifications

• 5+ years of development experience, with strong hands-on Java backend expertise.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot skills, including production-grade microservices; frontend experience with Angular and JavaScript.
• Experience applying DevSecOps, security-first development, and CI/CD; experience maintaining comprehensive UI tests.
• Database experience with MSSQL, Oracle, or NoSQL platforms; understanding of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of enterprise design patterns and testing frameworks such as JUnit, Cucumber, Jasmine, or Mocha.
• Kafka experience preferred; leadership, project management, communication, ownership, and agile delivery capabilities.
• Bachelor's or university degree, or equivalent experience.

Compensation and benefits

• Full-time salary range is $107,120 to $160,680 per year.
