Senior Java Application Support Engineer - Hybrid

In this role, you will:

• Work actively with team members to analyse and resolve application issues
• Identify defects, discrepancies, and trends by ways of code debugging or log analysis
• Manage incidents and effectively communicate with users, application owners and senior stakeholders across all areas
• Improve application stability and performance by observing patterns, recurring failures and/or issues, and advise application owners on permanent fixes accordingly

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in New York, NY Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.

What you need to have to be considered:

• 6+ years of experience in application support, with demonstrable experience in ITSM process.
• Proficiency in programming language - Java
• Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems. Should be proficient in unix commands and shell scripting
• Strong Experience in SQL, should be proficient in writing complex queries, PL/SQL.
• Strong ability to understand, debug, and optimize code.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to detect root causes and implement effective solutions.

The annual salary for this position is between $46K – 93K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate .

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
