The Role

Workplace

• This is a hybrid role with two days per week spent connecting with colleagues in the London office or working on client sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver end-to-end features and small subsystems while optimizing performance, accessibility, and responsiveness.
• Explain technical trade-offs and present demos to clients and stakeholders to shape tactical direction.
• Lead specific features or workstreams and mentor junior colleagues in craft and process.
• Mentor others across the practice and represent Waracle in interviews and recruitment panels.
• Participate in ad hoc duties as required by management.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Strong Swift programming expertise and hands-on experience with Xcode, Git/GitHub, XCTest, and XCUITest.
• A proven record of shipping high-quality, production-scale iOS applications.
• Deep understanding of modular app architecture and scalable patterns such as MVVM.
• Experience building, maintaining, and integrating clean, scalable, well-documented SDKs.
• Understanding of multithreading and concurrency models, including async/await, GCD, and Operations.
• Excellent communication skills supporting reusability, inner-sourcing, and reduced technical waste across distributed teams.
• Experience with Pair Programming, TDD, code reviews, CI, and automated testing.
• Direct experience or familiarity with Flutter or React Native.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Understanding of mobile security principles, including secure data storage, authentication flows, and safe data handling.
• Experience building and maintaining mobile deployment pipelines with tools such as GitHub Actions and Fastlane.
