Senior Instrumentation Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Review and supervise design-and-build C&I systems, field instruments, PLC, and SCADA, including control and automation commissioning.
• Implement PLC and SCADA systems and review contractor submissions, recommending acceptance or otherwise.
• Review, verify, monitor, and make no-objection recommendations on inspection, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and commercial operation testing plans.
• Verify ICA data against technical specifications, applicable law, performance standards, approvals, and good industry practice.
• Commission systems and witness acceptance tests with relevant parties and government departments.
• Plan and lead instrumentation shutdown works to meet specified completion windows.
• Carry out design and related duties as directed.

Candidate specification

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrable design management experience on similar works and ability to review and supervise C&I and software designs and construction.
• Experience with C&I systems, PLC, SCADA, control and automation commissioning, and treatment works, pump stations, or equivalent projects.
• Extensive experience verifying ICA data for compliance with applicable requirements.
• Chartered Engineer with a recognized professional institution is highly preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to prioritize, communicate clearly, and drive accountability and results.
• Operate ethically and with integrity, prioritizing safety and security.
