Role overview
Senior service management professional for a major national digital services programme based out of Doha, Qatar.
This is the first hire into the programme’s service management function.
The role will design the operating model and guide hiring and onboarding of the team that will run it.
Responsibilities and capabilities
- Design a service management operating model using ITIL or an equivalent approach.
- Move the model from documentation into live practice, including training and change management.
- Coordinate vendors, entities, and multiple parties; manage incidents and escalations.
- Specify, select, and implement service-management and ticketing tools, such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or an equivalent platform.
Experience and qualifications
- 8–10+ years in IT service management or service operations.
- Direct experience designing and standing up a service management function from scratch on a large, multi-vendor programme.
- Government or regulated-sector service management experience is advantageous.
- ITIL 4 certification is advantageous, with Foundation stated as the minimum level and Managing Professional preferred; a service-management tooling certification is also advantageous.
Contract terms
- Initial six-month contract, with a view to conversion to full-time permanent employment after the initial contract.
