Senior General Ledger Accountant

For SSMC Hospital - Sheikh Shakhbout Hospital, Abu Dhabi

We are looking for an experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to manage and oversee general ledger operations, monthly closings, reconciliations, and financial reporting within a large organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and review general ledger transactions and journal entries
• Oversee monthly close activities and preparation of trial balances
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations and clear suspense accounts
• Ensure accurate cost allocation and investigate variances
• Coordinate with AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and revenue teams
• Support internal and external audits and liaise with banks when required
• Prepare financial statements and management reports
• Supervise day‑to‑day accounting activities and support junior team members

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in MS Office; ERP experience is an advantage
• Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CMA, etc.) are a plus
• Experience in a large healthcare facility is preferred
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
• Arabic language skills are an advantage

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED14,000.00 - AED20,000.00 per month
