The Role
The Senior Full Stack Engineer will design, develop, and scale the grid intelligence platform end to end.
The role spans interactive energy-data front ends, scalable APIs and data pipelines, machine learning productionization, CI/CD, observability, and deployment.
The platform supports utility operations using real contracts, operational data, and production systems.
Frontend Development
- Build TypeScript and React applications that visualize demand forecasts, weather data, and grid analytics.
- Create Mapbox-based geospatial layers for network topology, feeder load profiles, and weather overlays.
- Develop responsive dashboards for large time-series datasets and map-based utility engineering workflows.
- Build reusable component libraries, translate Figma designs, and test mission-critical tools.
Backend Development
- Design microservices and REST APIs for forecasting, grid simulation, and load-flow analytics.
- Build high-frequency time-series ingestion pipelines and normalize inconsistent formats and time zones.
- Integrate services with machine learning inference, model versioning, A/B testing, and retraining workflows.
- Manage GIS and grid-topology data and optimize Cloud SQL PostgreSQL and NoSQL data stores.
- Implement secure data access with RBAC and audit logging.
- Use event-driven architecture and message queues for asynchronous forecasting and reporting.
Infrastructure and DevOps
- Build GCP CI/CD pipelines for data-intensive services, ML-backed APIs, and front-end applications.
- Implement structured logging, metrics dashboards, and alerting for production observability.
- Own deployments and incident response while ensuring high availability and graceful degradation.
- Containerize services with Docker and support multi-tenant utility environments.
- Improve scalability and reliability as customer and data volumes grow.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Five or more years building and deploying production-grade full-stack web applications.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and a modern front-end framework.
- Strong back-end experience in Python, Java/Kotlin, or Go and solid computer science fundamentals.
- Experience with relational database optimization, microservices, REST APIs, event-driven systems, and message queues.
- Hands-on cloud, Docker, CI/CD, automated testing, logging, and monitoring experience.
- Strong asynchronous communication and ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous environments.
Great to Have
- Experience with D3.js, Mapbox, Deck.gl, WebGL, large-scale time-series data, or GIS and spatial analysis.
- Familiarity with machine learning model serving, enterprise security, compliance, or multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Experience in high-growth or zero-to-one environments and with high-frequency time-series storage and visualization.
Working Hours
- The team is distributed across India and California, with several hours of evening overlap with US Pacific Time on most workdays.
Compensation
- The stated compensation range is $30K-$50K; no compensation cadence is specified.
