Role overview

Build and enhance the UI/UX layer of Humana’s Enterprise Data Governance Platform and Control Plane.

Develop scalable applications integrating data governance, metadata, and analytics platforms across the enterprise.

The role involves frontend and backend development, database integrations, hosting, and user-interface and user-experience work.

Key responsibilities

  • Support continuous improvement of the Information Marketplace as an enterprise platform.
  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications for the platform.
  • Build React and TypeScript interfaces and scalable Node.js backend services and APIs.
  • Translate requirements into maintainable software and contribute to scalable, secure, performant microservices, APIs, and UI frameworks.
  • Integrate metadata services, enterprise platforms, APIs, and third-party tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues, find root causes, and implement long-term fixes; optimize performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Participate in code reviews and development standards; collaborate across product, architecture, data engineering, and governance.
  • Contribute to CI/CD, containerization, and automated testing; stay current with development practices.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–8+ years of application development or full-stack engineering experience.
  • Production web application and full-stack development experience.
  • Experience with AI and AI coding tools, cloud environments (especially Azure), and Agile/Scrum teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, independent-work, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Required technical skills: Node.js, React.js, TypeScript, REST API development, and Git-based source control.

Preferred qualifications and skills

  • Enterprise application, developer platform, data platform, or internal-tools experience is preferred.
  • A master’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
  • Redux or similar state management, Tailwind CSS or similar styling, Sequelize or similar ORM, Docker, CI/CD, microservices, enterprise integrations, or WASM experience is preferred.

Work arrangement

  • This is a remote position; occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings may be required.
  • Home workers need internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload and a dedicated workspace protecting member PHI/HIPAA information.

Hours

  • Scheduled weekly hours: 40.

Compensation

  • Full-time base pay range is $106,900–$147,000 per year.
  • The role is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
