Role overview
Lead the design, development, integration, and support of enterprise web applications, APIs, and real-time digital experiences.
Architect and develop scalable frontend and backend solutions using modern web technologies and cloud-native practices.
Core responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on full stack development for real-time manufacturing and operational systems.
- Build responsive web applications, reusable UI frameworks, component libraries, dashboards, workflows, and data visualizations.
- Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs, microservices, cloud-native platforms, real-time communication services, and enterprise systems.
- Develop scalable backend services, APIs, event-driven services, microservices, secure authentication, authorization, and session management.
- Optimize application performance, accessibility, responsiveness, scalability, database interactions, and distributed workflows.
- Implement observability, monitoring, resiliency, logging, and error-handling frameworks.
- Prepare design documents, architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, status reports, and support documentation.
Location and travel
- The role may be based at Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- The role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, including regular in-person meetings and events.
- Employees must be able to meet colleagues in person and travel for company events from time to time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of full stack application development experience, with a strong focus on manufacturing and automotive solutions.
- Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET Core.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, distributed architectures, real-time web applications, and reusable UI component libraries.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps, CI/CD, and deployment automation.
- Strong understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, secure coding, accessibility, and responsive design.

Compensation
- This is a full-time, exempt role with annual performance bonus eligibility.
- Initial base salary range is $140,000 to $170,000 annually.
