Senior Full stack AI Developer (Python & Angular/React)

About the role

What you’ll do

• Integrate AI solutions to improve operational processes, with attention to robustness, performance, scalability, reliability, and observability.
• Integrate AI-driven solutions with insurance operations systems, coordinating technical requirements and deployment with IT, operations, and data science teams.
• Work with data scientists and analysts to ensure solutions address business needs, use high-quality data, and align with strategic goals.
• Apply advances in software engineering and AI, including Angular or React for front-end work, and contribute to team knowledge.
• Own feature delivery across data pipelines, models, APIs and services, and front-end UI.
• Use CI/CD tools and agile methodology to deliver features and updates reliably.
• Mentor squad members as a technical leader and influence the technical roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or computer science, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 6 years of significant development experience.
• Strong Python backend skills and proficiency in Angular or React; backend experience with FastAPI and SQL.
• Proficient in AI-assisted coding, including GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Kiro.
• Experience with automated backend and UI testing; familiarity with observability tools and practices.
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS; containerization with Docker and Kubernetes; Terraform, CI/CD, and observability.
• Strong Git experience for version control, code review, and collaboration; strong data engineering skills.
• Good understanding of generative AI building blocks, including prompting, agent frameworks, evaluations, guardrails, RAG, embeddings/vector databases, fine-tuning, graph databases with LLMs, MCP, and reasoning models.
• Databricks Unity Catalog and Delta Lake are assets; knowledge of MLOps best practices is an asset.
• Quebec-based candidates must be bilingual in French and English because of frequent collaboration with colleagues across Canada.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment; Canadian work experience is not required.

Compensation

• Salary range is 118,700–145,100; the stated range is based on a 35-hour workweek and varies by candidate profile.
• Annual bonus target is 12% of base salary, with potential payout up to twice the target based on personal and company performance.
• Compensation also includes a share purchase plan with company matching and a defined-benefit pension plan.
