Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Mexico)

Role Overview

Implementation and Architecture

• Own end-to-end implementations across banking, on-premise, private cloud, restricted, and air-gapped environments.
• Lead architecture discussions and design deployment architectures covering networking, security, infrastructure, data, APIs, observability, availability, and recovery.
• Make technical decisions and trade-offs while maintaining product supportability and security.
• Design and implement integrations with banking platforms, APIs, data platforms, Kafka, databases, identity systems, and legacy applications.
• Build reusable adapters, connectors, APIs, automation, deployment tooling, and integration components.

Deployment and Production Operations

• Lead application deployment and orchestration using Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and related infrastructure tooling.
• Define upgrade, migration, rollback, patching, configuration management, and production rollout strategies.
• Investigate and resolve production issues involving networks, firewalls, VPNs, proxies, load balancers, DNS, certificates, authentication, encryption, Kubernetes, and integrations.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for critical incidents and high-priority client issues.

Documentation and Collaboration

• Produce and review architecture documents, API documentation, integration specifications, deployment runbooks, handover documents, diagrams, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Lead technical discovery and identify feasibility concerns, dependencies, security requirements, complexity, and risks before commitments are made.
• Work with Product Engineering and DevOps to improve architecture, deployment models, observability, integrations, and operational supportability.
• Mentor FDE I and FDE II engineers, review designs, and establish technical delivery standards.
• Participate in on-call or escalation coverage for critical client production environments according to agreed SLAs.

Required Experience

• 4–7+ years of experience in forward deployed engineering, systems integration, solutions engineering, DevOps, backend engineering, infrastructure engineering, or enterprise technical implementation.
• Strong hands-on Python and API development experience using FastAPI, Django, Flask, or similar frameworks.
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux.
• Significant experience with on-premise, private cloud, air-gapped, or highly restricted enterprise environments.
• Strong enterprise networking knowledge, including firewalls, VPNs, proxies, routing, load balancers, DNS, TLS/SSL, and certificates.
• Experience designing architectures, troubleshooting distributed production systems, communicating technical decisions, documenting solutions, mentoring engineers, and leading client workshops or escalations.
• Willingness to visit client sites and take ownership during critical deployment or production activities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with banks, regulated industries, high-availability systems, GPU infrastructure, AI/ML platforms, or enterprise security processes is a strong plus.
