- Directly supervise the finance team, assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide financial and technical guidance to ensure the quality and accuracy of outputs.
- Prepare, review, and approve accounting entries and treatments in accordance with the approved accounting standards of the Government of Dubai and applicable financial policies.
- Review and approve daily financial processes and transactions, ensuring proper accounting classification and the validity of supporting documents.
- Oversee monthly and annual financial closing processes, and prepare final accounts and related reports.
- Prepare and review the annual budget in coordination with relevant organizational units, and monitor its implementation in line with the approved budget.
- Monitor compliance with financial allocations, analyze variances, and propose appropriate corrective actions.
- Prepare periodic and advanced financial and analytical reports, including KPIs, trend analysis, and forecasts to support strategic planning.
- Supervise bank and accounting reconciliations, and ensure proper balance matching and periodic inventory/count processes.
- Oversee the management of advances, petty cash, contracts, and financial obligations, ensuring compliance with related procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial laws, regulations, and policies, and promote effective implementation of financial procedures.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors, prepare required documentation, and follow up on audit observations and their resolution.
- Develop and enhance financial processes and systems, and contribute to digital transformation and automation initiatives.
- Participate in management meetings to provide financial insights, analysis, and advisory support for decision-making.
- Train and mentor junior finance staff and contribute to building institutional capabilities.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the financial field.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 6 years of experience in the financial field.
