Your day as a Senior Financial Accountant
Senior Financial Accountant
position will work predominantly in the Finance Projects & Engagement team and will work within the TSFR team during key year end and budget preparation periods (approximately four months of the year).
Within the Finance Projects & Engagement team you will support delivery of a range of FSPR key strategic priorities and projects.
The role is responsible for developing strong stakeholder engagement, within Treasury and with other government agencies, to improve the quality and performance of public sector financial management and capability.
In the TSFR team the Senior Financial Accountant position supports the delivery of the TSSA and key reporting aggregates included in NSW Budget, Half Year Review and Monthly Reporting.
This role liaises extensively with other areas within Treasury, with NSW government agencies and equivalents in other jurisdictions across Australia, and with external stakeholders.

- Strong technical accounting skills
- Demonstrated experience of producing large and/or complex consolidations
- Understanding of sustainability reporting standards and frameworks, including the latest current and future developments
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated research, analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Demonstrated experience in delivering projects within strict deadlines and often with competing priorities.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce / Accounting / Finance and/or related discipline with CA or CPA accreditation

Eligibility
