Full Job Posting

Location and work arrangement

  • The role is based at DFYNE HQ in Uddingston, Scotland.
  • Work location is explicitly onsite.

Role overview

The Senior Finance Analyst will help build DFYNE's finance function as the company scales globally.

The role combines management accounting with hands-on accounts payable, fixed asset management, lease accounting, financial controls and commercial analysis.

The source emphasizes ownership, attention to detail, commercial curiosity, problem solving, calm under pressure and continuous improvement.

Management accounts and reporting

  • Prepare monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and supporting schedules to deadlines.
  • Post and review month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and amortisation, and maintain clear working papers.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate differences and resolve outstanding items.
  • Analyse actual results against budget, forecast and prior periods; explain material variances and cost trends.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning and improvements to management reporting.
  • Ensure accurate cut-off, cost-centre allocations and complete month-end liabilities; support audit preparation and financial controls.

Fixed assets and lease accounting

  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, including capital expenditure, additions, disposals and depreciation.
  • Manage right-of-use asset schedules and lease liabilities under IFRS 16 or FRS 102; post monthly lease interest and depreciation journals.
  • Review invoices and capital expenditure requests for correct capitalisation versus operating expense treatment.
  • Perform periodic physical asset verification and reconcile asset records to general ledger controls.
  • Prepare lease schedules, impairment reviews and disclosures for month-end and year-end statutory audit reporting.

Invoice control and reconciliations

  • Manage the finance inbox daily with processed, actioned and pending categories to support handovers.
  • Register all incoming invoices in NetSuite within two working days and track future payment liabilities.
  • Verify invoice details, values and UK VAT treatment; code invoices to general ledger accounts and cost centres.
  • Assess value for money, query unexpected charges and hold unresolved invoices.
  • Review and cleanse accounts payable balances; reconcile supplier statements, the AP sub-ledger, fixed assets, lease schedules and general ledger before month-end close.

Candidate profile

  • Own accurate and timely management accounts while remaining hands-on across core finance operations.
  • Be organised, commercially aware, detail-focused and effective in a fast-paced environment.
  • Apply relevant accounting standards to right-of-use assets and lease liabilities.
  • Use NetSuite to process incoming invoices within the stated timeframe.
