Senior Engineer - Building Technology Systems (BMS)

Role overview

Design and coordination

• Develop BMS designs for commercial, healthcare, hospitality, aviation, residential, and mixed-use projects.
• Prepare calculations, architecture diagrams, control schematics, points schedules, sequences of operation, specifications, and design reports.
• Coordinate BMS with mechanical, electrical, ELV, ICT, security, lighting-control, and energy-management systems.
• Produce and review drawings, BIM models, and technical documentation; review contractor submissions, shop drawings, materials, and proposals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary coordination, resolve integration issues, provide stage-based technical input, and respond to RFIs and design changes.

Delivery and handover

• Conduct site inspections to check installation quality and conformance with approved designs and specifications.
• Support testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and handover activities.
• Contribute to smart-building, sustainability, energy-efficiency, and digital-building initiatives.
• Maintain project documentation and prepare technical reports and progress updates; collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and project teams.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Controls, Mechatronics, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years of experience in BMS, building automation, or smart-building engineering, including complex building-project design delivery.
• Strong understanding of HVAC controls, monitoring systems, and integrated building technologies.
• Experience with a major BMS platform such as Siemens Desigo, Schneider EcoStruxure, Honeywell EBI, Johnson Controls Metasys, Delta Controls, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with UAE, KSA, and international building codes, standards, and design practices; experience supporting testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office. BMS, controls, or smart-building certifications are advantageous.
