Senior Electrical Project Manager

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from planning and mobilisation to completion; manage programmes, budgets, resources and performance.
• Coordinate project teams, engineers, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Oversee electrical installation, testing, commissioning, snagging and handover; review drawings and specifications.
• Manage costs, forecasts, variations, subcontract procurement, risk, issues and change.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, design teams and contractors; lead client, project and progress meetings.
• Maintain regulatory compliance, safe delivery, quality assurance, inspection and testing, and project reporting.
• Support and mentor project and site team members.

Experience and qualifications

• Significant electrical project-management experience in construction or building services, including full project delivery through handover.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation, testing and commissioning; experience managing teams, subcontractors and supply-chain partners.
• Commercial awareness covering cost control, forecasting and variations; understanding of contracts and project delivery.
• Strong planning, organisation, programme management, communication, stakeholder management and risk-management skills.
• Relevant electrical, engineering or building-services qualification; SMSTS or equivalent site-management qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.

Advantageous qualifications

• HNC, HND or degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline is advantageous.
• APM or PRINCE2 project-management qualification and IET or similar professional membership are advantageous.
