Role overview

L2 and L3 commissioning

• Verify ELV installation readiness against approved designs and commissioning requirements; review installation checklists, inspection records, ITPs, and method statements.
• Identify installation deficiencies, confirm commissioning entry criteria, and coordinate commissioning of equipment and system components.
• Verify configuration, functionality, interfaces, alarms, controls, and communications, and resolve technical issues with vendors and contractors.

L4 and L5 testing

• Lead Level 4 functional performance testing, review scripts and sequences, and verify cause-and-effect requirements, alarms, controls, and system responses.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary testing, record failures and non-conformances, drive corrective actions and retesting, and capture evidence.
• Lead and support Level 5 Integrated Systems Testing, including ELV interfaces with electrical, mechanical, BMS, and life-safety systems.
• Validate normal, abnormal, and simulated failure scenarios; support client demonstrations, witness testing, and final acceptance.

Documentation and leadership

• Prepare, review, and approve commissioning plans, procedures, scripts, and test records; maintain evidence and handover documentation.
• Manage technical issues, defects, observations, and punch-list items through closure; review vendor submissions and produce progress reports.
• Act as senior technical contact, guide project team members, coordinate contractors and vendors, and work with other commissioning disciplines.
• Attend project and client meetings, communicate technical status and risks, and promote quality, safety, and commissioning best practice.

Experience and technical qualifications

• 8–10+ years of relevant ELV engineering and commissioning experience; data centre or mission-critical project experience is essential.
• Hands-on delivery of L2–L5 commissioning, particularly Level 4 functional testing and Level 5 Integrated Systems Testing.
• Experience preparing, reviewing, and executing commissioning scripts, diagnosing failures, and coordinating corrective actions and retesting.
• Strong knowledge of multiple ELV systems, building-system interfaces, commissioning documentation, testing procedures, and handover requirements.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, cause-and-effect matrices, sequences of operation, and technical specifications.
• A relevant engineering qualification, degree, or recognized technical certification is preferred.
