Overview
The Senior Draftsman – Mechanical is responsible for producing detailed mechanical shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built documentation for HVAC, plumbing, and fire-fighting systems on villa and building construction projects in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare mechanical shop drawings (HVAC ductwork, chilled water piping, plumbing, fire fighting) in AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP.
- Interpret mechanical engineering designs, schematics, and specifications to produce construction-level drawings.
- Coordinate with Electrical and Plumbing draftsmen to resolve spatial conflicts and produce integrated services drawings.
- Produce as-built drawings incorporating all site variations and RFI responses.
- Manage drawing revisions, transmittals, and ensure drawings are aligned with approved submittals.
- Liaise with the BIM team to maintain drawing consistency with 3D models.
- Ensure drawings comply with UAE authority standards (DEWA, Trakhees, Civil Defence, SEWA).
- Mentor and check the work of junior draftsmen in the mechanical team.
