Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver full-stack applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js.
• Build responsive, accessible React experiences and secure, scalable Node.js and Express.js APIs and services.
• Design MongoDB data models, queries, indexes, and access patterns for performance and reliability.
• Guide modular application design, API contracts, authentication, caching, and event-driven integrations.
• Promote secure coding, testing practices, data protection, dependency management, and automated security scanning.
• Own complex work through investigation, design, release, validation, and closure; lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Use logs, traces, metrics, and diagnostics to troubleshoot services and identify risks, dependencies, performance constraints, and operational gaps.
• Drive CI/CD, rollback planning, release support, post-production validation, and application health and audit readiness.
• Partner across product, design, QA, architecture, cloud, security, SRE, and dependent application teams.
• Mentor team members, conduct code and design reviews, maintain documentation and runbooks, and communicate technical findings.
• Contribute hands-on development to critical initiatives and production fixes; drive reuse, automation, simplification, and quality improvements.
• Consider the bank's risk culture and controls, including operational, compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, and conduct risk.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience supporting complex, customer-facing platforms.
• Strong hands-on expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB.
• Experience with React components and accessible interfaces; secure APIs, middleware, microservices, and backend-for-frontend services.
• Experience with MongoDB schema design, indexing, query optimization, and transaction patterns.
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming, error handling, API versioning, caching, and event-driven integration.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT, session management, and secure service-to-service integration.
• Experience with Jest or equivalent and modern unit, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git-based development, artifact management, automated security scanning, and observability platforms.
• Strong knowledge of application performance, resiliency, accessibility, dependency management, and security.
• Ability to mentor, conduct code and design reviews, influence technical direction, and own complex delivery and production issues.
• Strong problem-solving, technical judgment, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• At least 4 years of experience in Agile delivery models such as Scrum or Kanban.
