Overview
Leading Main Contractor operating across the UAE are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join its team at pre concept stage working across multiple Healthcare projects in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the overall design process from pre concept, schematic, detail design through to IFC and delivery stages of the project, ensuring alignment with project objectives, budget, and program.
- Act as the primary liaison between the client, consultants, sub contractors, and internal teams, ensuring seamless communication.
- Drive design progress and conduct constructability assessments.
- Review and approve design documentation, ensuring compliance with local regulations, international standards, and project requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across architectural and engineering disciplines, ensuring high-quality design output.
- Support senior leadership in strategic planning, risk management, and decision-making.
Requirements
- Architectural background (Bachelor's degree required) or similar
- Minimum 12 years design management experience, with proven experience delivering Major Healthcare projects in ideally UAE/GCC but would consider suitable applicants looking for their first role in the region.
- Strong understanding of UAE building codes, development regulations, authority approval processes, and local market dynamics would be an advantage.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring design teams.
- Strong technical and commercial acumen with the ability to drive project progress and resolve complex issues.
- Exceptional communication, client-facing, and stakeholder management skills.
