Senior Design Engineer - LV Switchgear (Mechanical)

Role overview

Work arrangement

• The role is identified as onsite and contributes to the Nashik, India location.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize mechanical designs using CAD and advanced engineering techniques; collect data and support production of engineering designs.
• Ensure designs meet contract specifications, safety requirements, environmental regulations, customer requirements, quality standards, and cybersecurity policies.
• Collaborate with electrical, thermal, and materials engineering teams; conduct mechanical, stress, and thermal analyses.
• Manage technical drawings, design documentation, and engineering deliverables.
• Support manufacturing during prototype development and production ramp-up.
• Mentor junior designers, contribute to team knowledge, and participate in sustainability-aligned product innovation.
• Review and validate designs for manufacturability, cost optimization, and quality.
• Engage customers and field teams to address design requirements and technical feedback.

Qualifications

• Full-time degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10 to 15 years of experience designing low-voltage switchgear, including electrical power distribution and Motor Control Centers.
• Analyze customer technical documentation, apply product offerings to requirements, and propose alternatives that optimize profitability.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical and 3D layout drawing tools such as SolidWorks, EPLAN Pro Panel, or AutoCAD Mechanical.
• Data center project experience is an added advantage.
• Excellent communication skills for internal and external customer engagement.
