Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of hands-on production database administration experience.
- Oracle Database 19c installation, configuration, OPatch patching, and at least one major version upgrade.
- Physical Oracle RAC clusters and ASM, including Grid Infrastructure, clusterware administration, and cluster fault diagnosis; virtualized or single-node experience is insufficient.
- Oracle Data Guard physical standby configuration and gap resolution, with personal production switchover or failover experience.
- Expert-level RMAN backup and recovery, including completed recovery operations.
- Microsoft SQL Server installation, patching, backup and restore, Always On or equivalent, and security administration.
- PostgreSQL installation, streaming replication, backup and point-in-time recovery, and vacuum management.
- AWR, ADDM, ASH, and execution plan analysis for database performance tuning.
- Linux administration, shell scripting, SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Database hardening, privileged access control, auditing, and encryption.
- Current verifiable administrator-level or higher database certification; professional written and spoken English; planned out-of-hours and weekend maintenance availability.
Additional experience
- Oracle E-Business Suite Apps DBA experience is a plus, including ADOP online patching on dual filesystem, AutoConfig, AD utilities, Rapid Clone, and Concurrent Manager administration.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle Database 19c environments.
- Administer physical Oracle RAC clusters, ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and clusterware, and diagnose cluster-level faults.
- Configure and maintain Oracle Data Guard physical standby, resolve gaps, and perform switchover or failover operations.
- Perform RMAN database backups and recovery operations.
- Install, patch, back up, restore, and secure Microsoft SQL Server environments, including availability groups or equivalent.
- Administer PostgreSQL installation, streaming replication, backups, point-in-time recovery, and vacuum management.
- Tune database performance using AWR, ADDM, ASH, and execution plan analysis.
- Apply database hardening, privileged access controls, auditing, and encryption.
