Key responsibilities
- Build dashboards for real-time and historical trends, operational KPIs, time-series and event data, alerts, exceptions, and summary or detailed analysis.
- Create dashboard filtering, navigation, and drilldowns; improve usability, performance, consistency, and user experience.
- Develop Grafana variables, transformations, calculations, queries, filters, links, and interactive capabilities.
- Troubleshoot dashboard, query, data-source, and performance problems.
- Work with stakeholders and engineering teams to translate needs and data models into effective visualizations.
- Create reusable dashboard templates, visualization standards, and best practices.
Required qualifications
- Strong experience building data visualizations and analytical dashboards, including hands-on Grafana dashboard development.
- Experience with one or more additional visualization or analytics platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Kibana, or similar tools.
- Strong SQL and data-querying skills; experience with time-series, event-based, operational, or high-volume datasets.
- Understanding of dashboard design, data visualization principles, and user experience.
- Ability to independently translate business requirements into dashboards and troubleshoot data and visualization issues.
Preferred qualifications
- Advanced Grafana experience with variables, transformations, drilldowns, dashboard linking, annotations, and performance optimization.
- Experience with time-series databases such as InfluxDB, Amazon Timestream, Prometheus, or similar technologies.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms and integrating visualization platforms with APIs and multiple data sources.
- Experience with IoT, telemetry, transportation, manufacturing, or other operational data environments.
- JavaScript/TypeScript or Grafana plugin development is a plus.
Candidate focus
The role emphasizes analytical dashboards that help users identify trends, investigate issues, understand activity, and make informed decisions, rather than only infrastructure monitoring.
Deep analytical dashboard experience on platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker combined with solid Grafana experience is acceptable.

- Pay starts at $65.00 per hour.
