Responsibilities
- Analyze, deconstruct, and map complex existing statistical models and algorithms in R.
- Conduct statistical testing to improve model performance, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Modernize existing functionality and design scalable enhancements for growing data.
- Build and deploy new analytical features and predictive models.
- Refactor R code into production-ready frameworks.
- Champion version control, documentation, and automated testing practices.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering on model deployment and communicate statistical outcomes to non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior data scientists and analysts.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in data science, statistical modeling, or quantitative research.
- Expert-level R proficiency, including tidyverse, data.table, and advanced statistical or modeling packages.
- Deep practical knowledge of applied statistics, including methods such as regression, time-series, mixed-effects, or Bayesian analysis.
- Experience auditing codebases, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing measurable algorithmic improvements.
- Ability to document complex algorithms and explain technical concepts to executive leadership.
Desirable Skills
- Experience building R APIs such as plumber or developing interactive dashboards such as Shiny.
- Familiarity with Docker and cloud deployment using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Working knowledge of Python, pandas, scikit-learn, or SQL.
- Domain expertise in banking or financial services.
