DESCRIPTION: Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Data Scientist III and contribute to global healthcare and scientific innovation.In this role, you will serve as a hands-on technical and business leader, responsible for shaping high-value Data Science and AI solutions across multiple business areas. The position combines deep technical expertise, leadership in emerging technologies, senior stakeholder engagement, mentoring, and portfolio-level decision-making, while remaining actively involved in solution architecture and complex technical delivery. Working in a collaborative environment, you will design, develop, and deploy advanced data science and AI solutions that improve operational efficiency, support better decision-making, and create measurable business impact. This role provides the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies while contributing to our mission of enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. REQUIREMENTS:
  • · Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related quantitative field; advanced degree is beneficial.
  • · Typically 5-7+ years of progressive experience in data science, machine learning, AI or advanced analytics.
  • · Deep hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, statistical modeling, machine learning, solution architecture and cloud platforms.
  • · Demonstrated experience delivering production-grade data science or AI solutions with measurable business impact.
  • · Strong understanding of modern AI approaches including GenAI/LLMs, RAG, AI agents, graph technologies and evolving AI ecosystems.
  • · Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate business strategy into technical solutions.
  • · Strong commercial/business acumen and ability to prioritize based on value rather than technical novelty.
  • · Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring and cross-functional influence.
