About the Role

Responsibilities

• Analyse claims, cybersecurity risk signals, and underwriting data for patterns and insights.
• Produce large-scale risk signals for underwriting and organizational risk evaluation.
• Develop statistical and machine learning models for cybersecurity risk, underwriting, and pricing.
• Report underwriting efficiency metrics and risk selection quality.
• Improve cyber risk assessment methodology using statistical techniques.
• Support underwriting strategies that balance growth and risk management.
• Implement analytics-driven underwriting workflow automation.
• Collaborate with actuarial, product, and engineering teams.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and mentor the underwriting team.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or related discipline.
• 5+ years in insurance underwriting, quantitative analysis, or risk modelling.
• Knowledge of insurance underwriting, pricing, reserving, or risk management.
• Advanced SQL and analytical-tool expertise, including Python, R, or similar tools.
• Data visualisation and operational metrics dashboard experience.
• Strong communication and analytical skills and ability to work with remote teams.

Nice-to-have Skills

• Actuarial qualification.
• Cyber insurance or cybersecurity experience.
• Experience with, or willingness to learn, Snowflake or AWS Athena.
