About the Role

You will be embedded with our client's engineering team in Saudi Arabia, responsible for designing, building, and operating production-grade data infrastructure. This is a hands-on engineering role. You will own pipelines end-to-end, work within a structured delivery environment, and contribute directly to high-impact data programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Data Pipeline Engineering

–    Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines using dbt, PySpark, or Airflow

–    Implement batch and streaming architectures for large-scale data ingestion and transformation

–    Apply data modelling best practices across enterprise datasets: SCD types, star/snowflake schema, data vault

–    Define and enforce data quality rules, lineage tracking, and governance standards

–    Manage and optimise cloud data infrastructure on Azure, AWS, or equivalent platforms

Data Platform & Architecture

–    Contribute to platform design decisions covering lakehouse, data warehouse, and integration patterns

–    Collaborate with architects and domain owners to align pipelines with business data products

–    Ensure data security, access control, and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements

–    Support data catalogue and metadata management initiatives

Required Skills & Experience

Programming & Tooling

–    Python (primary), SQL (advanced), PySpark

–    Pipeline orchestration: Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent

–    Data transformation: dbt (required)

–    Cloud: Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP

–    Storage: Delta Lake, Azure Data Lake, Snowflake, or Databricks

Domain Experience

–    5+ years in production data engineering, not PoC or academic projects

–    Demonstrable track record with enterprise-scale pipelines in commercial environments

–    Solid grounding in data modelling and warehouse design

–    Experience in regulated or complex enterprise sectors (government, financial services, energy, or telco preferred)

Eligibility

–    Valid Saudi iqama is mandatory.

–    Based in Saudi Arabia or available to mobilise immediately

Ways of Working

–    Fluent English, written and spoken. This is the working language across all teams

–    Comfortable working in structured enterprise environments with Agile/Scrum practices

–    Self-managing against sprint commitments with strong communication

Nice to Have

–    Exposure to Saudi Vision 2030 data and analytics programmes

–    Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or Synapse Analytics

–    Experience with data mesh or data product frameworks
