Work within an Agile team managed in Jira; Product Owners set product vision, priorities, and roadmaps while this role executes technical delivery.
What you'll do
- Lead technical design, architecture standards, and delivery of critical pipelines, services, and platform components for media monitoring and communications data.
- Partner with Product Owners to assess feasibility and trade-offs and turn product requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Build and maintain Python services, SQL transformation layers, star-schema models, and API integrations with relational databases and Azure Data Lake.
- Optimize performance, reliability, compute efficiency, and AI token costs; establish monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident-response practices.
- Improve analyst-facing configuration, including Boolean searches, API ingestion rules, and NocoDB workflows, to reduce routine engineering intervention.
- Operationalize AI enrichment for classification, summarization, sentiment, and topic detection, with quality assurance, governance, and cost controls.
- Integrate internal, API-driven, and third-party research datasets into scalable reporting workflows for specialized client needs.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, architectural guidance, and knowledge sharing.
Platform and technical areas
- Fount supports analyst configuration of client monitoring subscriptions, Boolean searches, data ingestion, and AI enrichment.
- Role scope includes ETL/ELT pipelines, Python services, SQL layers, API integrations, cloud infrastructure, and cost and performance optimization.
- AI integration scope includes LLM enrichment frameworks, MCP-enabled integrations, and provider-hosted integrations.
Requirements
- Senior individual-contributor experience in data engineering, with technical leadership and mentoring responsibility.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, services, and platform components for business-critical use.
- Ability to develop production-ready Python services, SQL transformation layers, data models, and API integrations.
- Experience with relational databases and cloud storage, including Azure Data Lake.
- Ability to partner with Product Owners in an Agile Jira environment and translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Experience with AI-enabled enrichment frameworks, LLMs, and integrations is part of the role scope.
- Ability to mentor junior engineers through reviews, pairing, and architectural guidance.
