Senior Data Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Define and document data and data pipelines with project teams for a variety of solutions.
• Ensure data solutions and pipelines meet data standards, architectural standards, and documented requirements.
• Maintain current-state documentation and deliverables for data solutions.
• Maintain existing and new data solutions to meet user needs.
• Assist operational teams with continuity of service.
• Work with the Data Engineering community of practice on continuous improvement.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related degree, or comparable experience.
• At least 8 years of experience.
• Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases; SQL Server, Oracle, and/or MongoDB experience preferred.
• Experience building data transformations, data structures, and data pipelines.
• Experience with data integration tools and object-oriented or object-function scripting languages.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across organizational levels.

Work environment

• Work is performed under general office environment conditions and involves extended sitting and close visual work with computers and equipment.
• Occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences are required.
• Domestic and international travel may be required.
