Senior Data Engineer and Technical Lead

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead development and day-to-day operation of the data warehouse and Business Intelligence platforms.
• Oversee Business Intelligence, Robotic Process Automation and SharePoint developers and prioritize competing workstreams.
• Deliver data warehouse, BI and dashboard reporting solutions, supporting self-service information and timely intelligence.
• Lead development, implementation and optimization of ETL processes and integrate data from multiple information systems.
• Maintain and enhance the data warehouse for reliable analytical use.
• Provide technical leadership from requirements gathering and solution design through testing, implementation and support.
• Work with analysts, clinicians, managers, operational teams and external suppliers to deliver reporting, automation and data solutions.
• Promote best practices in development, data quality, testing, documentation and automation; help reduce manual processes.

Working arrangements

• The team works in a blended fashion, with opportunities to work at the Wirral site and The Spine office in Liverpool.

Contract

• The position is initially offered as a 24-month fixed-term contract following an internal promotion.

• Ability to provide leadership and support to the development team while remaining hands-on with data engineering, business intelligence and automation.
• Experience or capability to lead development and day-to-day operation of data warehouse and business intelligence platforms.
