Senior Cybersecurity Technical Engineer - Microsegmentation/Workload Security

In This Role You Will

• Lead the discovery projects and build high level designs to accomplish business needs while prioritizing cyber risk reduction.
• Manage the cybersecurity technology lifecycle from conception to service operation.
• Make design decisions aligning to security principles. Coordinate with internal teams to build support for design decisions and favorable risk reduction outcomes.
• Build technical documentation for cybersecurity technology designs, operations and support the creation of associated security technology standards.
• Facilitate the ongoing review of cybersecurity technology designs and alignment to industry best practices.
• Support the diagnosis and resolution of cybersecurity technology issues as a subject matter expert.

Qualification

• To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:
• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Information Technology or a related field.
• 5+ Years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on emerging technologies, governance, and risk management.
• Industry recognized certifications such as CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent advanced security certifications are highly desirable.
• Extensive hands on experience across data center and cloud security, supporting large scale, complex environments across private (on premise) and public cloud, with a strong focus on workload protection and segmentation.
• Strong practical experience designing, implementing and operating Zero Trust Segmentation (microsegmentation) capabilities, with a particular focus of working on Microsegementation/ Workload protection tools and application dependency mapping, label based policy, and enforcement across hybrid and cloud first architectures.
• Experience with creating and debugging automation scripts through Python and Terraform with secrets and source code management, devops tooling and CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep understanding of application centric security and workload communications (east west traffic), including how to use dependency mapping to define segmentation boundaries and reduce lateral movement.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and diagnose segmentation outcomes across compute and network layers (policy intent vs. enforcement), including flow analysis, connectivity testing, application impacts, and exceptions management.
• Proven capability to operate as a senior technical escalation point for microsegmentation, driving platform stability, continuous improvement, and secure by design segmentation outcomes across data center and cloud workloads
