Role Summary
The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate cost analysis, monitoring cost performance, and ensuring integrity of cost data across REVIVA’s operations.
The role supports the Cost & Budgeting Manager by providing insightful financial analysis and visibility on cost drivers across plant operations, field services, and project-based activities.
This position focuses on technical excellence, cost transparency, and analytical support, enabling informed decision-making and effective cost control.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain monthly cost reports, including detailed variance analysis (budget vs. actual, standard vs. actual)
- Analyze cost drivers across operations such as manpower, overtime, materials, subcontracting (SMP), logistics, and equipment utilization
- Ensure accurate cost allocation and cost center accounting across multiple business units and locations
- Support development and maintenance of standard costing models and cost structures
- Monitor and validate inventory valuation, WIP (Work in Progress), and cost of services/projects
- Perform profitability analysis by project, contract, plant, and service line
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing reliable cost data and trend analysis
- Review and validate vendor and subcontractor cost components to ensure alignment with financial records
- Identify cost variances, anomalies, and data inconsistencies, and escalate findings to the Cost & Budgeting Manager
- Prepare financial analysis to support cost optimization initiatives and operational reviews
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement of cost reporting processes and ERP utilization (e.g., SAP / Oracle)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional certification preferred (e.g., CMA, ACCA, CPA)
- 5–8+ years of experience in cost accounting within industrial or manufacturing environments
- Experience in sectors such as chemical, petrochemical, waste management, industrial services, or heavy manufacturing is preferred
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting methodologies (standard costing, absorption costing, variance analysis)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
- Understanding of project costing and multi-site operations
- Familiarity with inventory accounting and cost control processes
