General Statement of Duties

  • Prepares and cooks nutritious and attractive meals for large groups of people; does related work as required.

Essential Duties

  • Knowledge of the preparation, cooking and serving of foods; knowledge of the operation and maintenance of a large kitchen; ability to read and write and understand written and oral directions; ability to make arithmetical computations accurately and quickly; ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with employees; good judgment; ability to lift and maneuver food and food service equipment; ability to deal with patrons courteously and tactfully.

Minimum Requirements

  • Completion of the tenth grade, preferably with supplemental commercial food preparation training, and three (3) years of experience preparing food in large‑scale settings; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
