Responsibilities

  • Design and execute Well Completion, Well Testing, Well Intervention, Well re-entry and Workover Operational Procedures.
  • Prepare Program Amendments and Management of Change (MOC) documents as required.
  • Prepare operational lookaheads, AFE’s and cost control tracking for all operations, including associated operations such as slickline, e-line, coiled tubing, stimulation, workover and pre/post work for drilling rig and HWU operations as required.
  • Ensure that the operations are planned and that the programmes are prepared with an optimum design and method to ensure operations are achievable and properly budgeted and resourced.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company procedures and standards.
  • Supervise Well Completion, Well Testing, Well Intervention, Well re-entry and Workover operational activities, as required.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting during Operations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote industry best practices in Well Completion, Well Testing, Well Intervention, Well re-entry and Workover Operations.
  • Manage contractors and service providers to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Act as the Contract Accountable Manager (CAM) for the contracts assigned to them.
  • Maintain regular contact with Exploration Department, Field Development Department, Well Integrity Team, Production Team and HSE Drilling Team during the planning and operational phase to ensure that all objectives are met.
  • Liaise with the Field Development Department, Drilling Engineers, Cost Engineer, Well Integrity Team and Logistics Superintendent to ensure that planned operations are correctly funded and that purchase orders and service orders are correctly allocated within the budget structure.
  • Ensure that the programmes are reviewed, approved and issued in a timely manner so that operations are not delayed.
  • Liaise with the Logistics Superintendent for the creation and issue of call off’s to the third-party contractors.
  • Liaise with the Fluids Superintendent regarding completion fluids design, services and products.
  • Review and revise the daily reports, lookaheads and cost control tracking sheets sent from the wellsite.
  • Ensure operations are completed within SNOC AFE time and budget. Regular reviews with the Cost Engineer and D&C Manager.
  • Ensure operations are performed in compliance with SNOC HSE regulations, procedures and standards.
  • Prepare and complete an operational summary and an End of Well Report (EOWR) at the conclusion of each well.
  • Identify areas of improvement and implementing best practices is a key accountability.
  • Capture “Lessons Learned” and implement Corrective and Improvement Plans as required.
  • Close out Non-Conformance and Non-Productive Time Reports.
  • Maintain and update the well folders on the Upstream server with all work completed.
  • Ensure that the Field Development Department together with the Well Integrity Team update the well schematics after each Completion, Workover and /or Intervention.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating relevant Completions and Well Testing Manuals sections within any of the SNOC Well Operations Manuals.
  • Prepare scope of works, payments sections, technical reviews, commercial reviews of tenders for Completion, Workover and Well Testing products and services.

Qualifications

  • An experienced Completion and Well Testing Engineer professional with at least 20 years’ experience in both onshore and offshore operations.
  • In depth knowledge of Completion design, Well Testing operations, perforating techniques, Drill Stem Tests (DST) Well-re-entry and Workovers
  • Strong understanding of a wide range of intervention and well services techniques using land and offshore drilling and workover rigs, HWU/snubbing units, coiled tubing units, hoists, in hydrostatically controlled and live wells.
  • Strong understanding of wellhead systems, Xmas trees, completion equipment both current and legacy, electric line and slickline equipment and procedures, P&A methods and HWU/snubbing
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment, permit to work, COSHH, health, safety and environmental regulations in the oil and gas industry.
  • Excellent leadership behavior and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standard reporting software including Landmark, Microsoft project, excel, power-point and word.
  • Ability to demonstrate good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving abilities for both process and technical issues such that methods and processes remain current and that lessons learnt are shared and repeat incidents are avoided.
  • Ability to provide safety leadership ensuring that SNOC Standards are adhered to and where necessary updated.
  • Proficiency in project management and budgeting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Willingness to travel and visit well sites as required.

Required Skills

  • Valid IWCF Level 4 Well Intervention and Pressure Control Certification.
