Role overview
Owns CNTXT's financial exposure as a Google Cloud reseller, where CNTXT carries customer-consumption bills while controls sit within customer workloads.
Builds and operates billing-data visibility that reduces consumption insight delays, and runs monitoring, incident response, enforcement, and Google-facing claims.
Individual contributor providing functional guidance to the Billing Operations Analyst; prepares the function for multi-cloud expansion and Phase 2 hires.
Scope and operating authority
- Covers all CNTXT Google Cloud billing IDs, online and offline, across the reseller customer base, with potential extension to additional clouds.
- Executes alerts, caps, suspensions, and reactivation within agreed mandates and the runbook authority ladder; actions beyond mandate require approval.
- Owns the function's tooling roadmap and budget and reports exposure, incidents, and recoveries to the EMT monthly.
Principal duties
- Build billing-data pipelines and dashboards for near-real-time consumption visibility across billing IDs.
- Detect anomalies against customer baselines, integrate signals into case workflows, and maintain documented triage SLAs.
- Manage compromised-account incidents and enforcement from detection through post-incident review.
- Handle Google abuse reports, credit claims, and escalations with complete evidence packs.
- Report to the EMT, provide contract and policy inputs, and develop the function for multi-cloud operations.
Detailed work
- Build Cloud Billing export pipelines to BigQuery; model customer baselines, seasonality, and credit consumption so zero-dollar invoices are not mistaken for inactivity.
- Create customer and margin dashboards for daily monitoring and maintain billing-ID inventory data quality.
- Detect sudden spend spikes, GPU or compute bursts, and unusual regions or services; integrate abuse notifications and Security Command Center findings into one case queue.
- Review and tune alert thresholds monthly; own incident verification, containment, notices, recovery, customer and Google communications, and post-incident reviews.
- Automate graduated enforcement actions and approval steps; manage claim evidence, consumption snapshots, timelines, notification logs, claim windows, exception requests, and outcome tracking.
- Drive Security Command Center Premium adoption for top-exposure customers; coordinate with Finance, Cybersecurity/GRC, Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Google, and customers as relevant.
- Design the onboarding due-diligence gate, prepare multi-cloud monitoring and processes, guide the Billing Operations Analyst, and document work for future hires.
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, or a related field; equivalent specialized experience may be considered.
- At least 6 years across cloud operations, FinOps engineering, revenue assurance, or fraud operations, with a hands-on build record.
- Track record of running incident or case processes with defined SLAs and executive reporting.
Functional competencies
- Deep understanding of Google Cloud Partner Sales, billing subaccounts, budgets and caps, and billing export.
- Strong SQL and BigQuery and solid Python for pipelines, models, and dashboards; Terraform is a plus.
- Ability to baseline consumption and detect compromise patterns; Security Command Center and cryptomining detection knowledge are a plus.
- Ability to run runbook-driven incident and case processes with defined SLAs and clear escalation.
- Understanding of reconciliation, exposure, credit claims, and contract terms, with clear executive reporting.
Certification and languages
- FinOps Certified Practitioner is preferred.
- English fluency with executive-level communication is required; Arabic is strongly preferred.
- Team or function leadership experience is a plus; Microsoft CSP or AWS Solution Provider ecosystem experience is a strong plus.
