Role overview

3D modelling and design

• Develop and maintain detailed civil and structural models in SP3D, including offshore steelwork, decks, platforms, access structures, and equipment supports.
• Interpret engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, vendor drawings, and mark-ups; incorporate engineering inputs and design changes.
• Maintain model accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project design requirements.

Drawings and coordination

• Prepare general arrangement, framing, section, elevation, fabrication, erection, connection, and miscellaneous steelwork drawings.
• Prepare material take-offs, bills of materials, and design reports; follow drafting, checking, and document control requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines, participate in model reviews, resolve clashes, and incorporate access, maintenance, and operational requirements.

Offshore delivery and quality

• Apply offshore design practices for fabrication, transportation, lifting, installation, and maintenance; support constructability reviews and site or technical queries.
• Follow ADNOC standards, project specifications, design criteria, and applicable international codes; perform model and drawing checks and maintain revision traceability.
• Provide technical guidance to junior designers, monitor deliverables against schedules, and contribute to improved modelling and drawing practices.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10–15 years of structural design and drafting experience in oil and gas.
• Strong hands-on SP3D expertise is mandatory; proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other 3D review platforms is expected.
• Extensive offshore structural systems experience and understanding of design, fabrication, and installation constraints.
• Familiarity with AISC, BS, API, ISO, and ADNOC standards; strong multidisciplinary coordination and stakeholder communication skills.
• ADNOC offshore or similar Middle East offshore project experience is highly preferred; central engineering or shared services experience is an advantage.
