Purpose and Profile
The role is responsible for civil quality assurance and quality control for utility-scale renewable energy projects involving solar and wind facilities.
The candidate must understand civil site quality requirements and prepare civil FQPs and related checklists for site implementation.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate civil quality documentation and project records.
- Understand testing requirements for cement, sand, aggregates, and other raw materials.
- Prepare FQPs for civil works and coordinate FQP agreements and design mix finalization with contractors.
- Review material test certificates against design and standard requirements.
- Conduct cube testing according to IS 456 and coordinate root cause analysis for failures.
- Train internal teams and contractors on site quality requirements.
- Perform site quality verification inspections, attend job-specific meetings, and maintain logs.
- Witness daily site quality activities according to the approved QAP.
- Identify and record deviations, observations, and non-conformities.
- Communicate observations and non-conformities and follow up with stakeholders on closure.
- Prepare weekly and monthly non-conformity reports.
- Maintain contractor performance records and identify preventive actions for continual improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in civil engineering from a reputable institute.
- Five to seven years of experience in site civil quality and quality assurance or quality control documentation.
- Expertise in renewable industry norms and standards, including IS/IEC standards.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Understanding of IS 10262 and IS 456 requirements.
- Ability to prepare FQPs for civil works.
Technical Knowledge
- Knowledge of raw materials testing for cement, sand, and aggregates.
- Knowledge of concrete cube testing and failure analysis.
- Knowledge of material test certificate review, site inspections, QAPs, and non-conformity management.
Work Context
- The role supports site civil quality work for utility-scale renewable energy projects.
- Site visits are required when necessary.
