Role overview

Boeing Vancouver is modernizing and migrating systems to the cloud and seeks a Senior Business Systems Analyst - Data Engineer for its Defence & Government Services team.

The senior hybrid role combines business systems analysis, process improvement, and data-enabled delivery for military sustainment digital services.

The role partners with government, program, supplier, operations, product, and technical teams to improve readiness, visibility, and operational performance.

Business systems analysis

  • Lead stakeholder discovery and document business and functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
  • Analyze sustainment, logistics, maintenance, supply, and readiness processes; translate needs into system, reporting, and data requirements.
  • Support prioritization, scope definition, impact analysis, and solution design with cross-functional product, operations, architecture, data science, and engineering teams.

Process and data solutions

  • Map current and future processes, handoffs, system interactions, rules, decision points, exceptions, and downstream impacts.
  • Support integration, workflow automation, and operational reporting design.
  • Collaborate on data mapping, ETL/ELT design, validation, reporting, SQL analysis, dashboards, and enterprise or mission-support system integrations.

Testing, documentation, and collaboration

  • Define UAT scenarios, test cases, and validation criteria; verify delivered solutions against requirements.
  • Maintain requirements, process maps, data dictionaries, traceability matrices, SOPs, and runbooks; support change management, training, and adoption.
  • Support data standards and process consistency, communicate risks and dependencies, liaise between mission users and technical teams, and mentor junior analysts.

Required qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
  • Strong business systems analysis, requirements gathering, process documentation, and workflow mapping experience.
  • Ability to translate mission or operational needs into functional and technical requirements.
  • Experience supporting UAT, issue triage, and implementation readiness; strong cross-functional stakeholder management.
  • Advanced SQL skills for analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.

Additional technical experience

  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or Qlik.
  • Working knowledge of ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data quality practices.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, Splunk, AWS, Databricks, or Azure Synapse.
