Senior Business/Functional Analyst

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead capture, analysis, validation, and management of business, functional, technical, and non-technical requirements.
• Use JIRA/ALM to manage requirements, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, tests, defects, and backlogs.
• Facilitate user interviews, stakeholder sessions, backlog refinement, and Agile/Scrum requirements work.
• Develop process models, formal specifications, project documents, and detailed stories.
• Coordinate with systems engineers and stakeholders to assess technical solution impacts.
• Maintain change control, change requests, configuration management, traceability, risks, and project artifacts.
• Report program and product execution metrics across the SAFe development lifecycle.
• Mentor junior analysts and support product owners and development teams.

Required qualifications

• 10 years of professional experience; an additional 10 years of experience may substitute for education.
• Master’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline.
• U.S. citizenship is required for this opportunity.
• Strong software development and Agile/SAFe background, advanced Microsoft Office including Excel, and JIRA expertise.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, customer service, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience conducting independent research and working on large Agile software development or data integration projects.

Desired qualifications

• Desired experience includes Agile work, VA Veterans Independence Program knowledge, VA SQA testing, and federal health agency experience.
• CSM or PSM certification and healthcare billing or claims application knowledge are desired.
