Role overview

Manulife seeks a Senior Business Analyst with AEM expertise to connect business, product, design, and technology teams.

The role translates complex needs into AEM solutions and supports publishing across enterprise web and mobile channels.

The advertised role is an existing vacancy.

AEM and digital experience work

  • Use knowledge of AEM templates, components, content architecture, and authoring and publishing workflows to validate requirements.
  • Translate WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility and brand compliance criteria into system-level requirements.
  • Work with designers and engineers to ensure feasibility and alignment with GDS architecture and token strategy.
  • Reproduce web issues, document findings and business impact, and engage relevant teams for investigation and resolution.
  • Provide AEM publishing support for high-priority requests and urgent fixes as needed.

Requirements and collaboration

  • Capture and clarify business and product objectives with marketing, design, technical, and product partners.
  • Evaluate requirements against AEM capabilities and recommend reuse, enhancement, or development of components and templates.
  • Document functional and non-functional requirements, dependencies, edge cases, authoring needs, and accessibility needs.
  • Maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, and success measures aligned with Agile delivery.
  • Review requirements, designs, workflows, and implementation plans to resolve gaps before development.
  • Facilitate reviews, planning, and decision-making; document decisions, actions, owners, dependencies, and next steps.
  • Manage risks, blockers, and approvals; participate in sprint ceremonies, refinement, UAT, and release activities.

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role in digital product, platform, or design system teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on AEM experience with components, templates, authoring, publishing workflows, and content management.
  • Direct design system experience; enterprise or global-scale experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI and front-end practices, including Figma, Storybook, and component-driven development.
  • Strong technical and non-technical documentation skills; experience in Agile delivery, backlog management, and Jira/Confluence refinement.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills, including bridging business and technical perspectives.

Preferred qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across global time zones and business lines.
  • Experience in a global enterprise or financial services organization.
  • Background in web publishing, content operations, or digital experience.

Working arrangement

  • The working arrangement is hybrid.

Compensation

  • The posting gives a Toronto salary range of CAD 73,725–CAD 122,875 per year, plus potential incentive compensation.
  • A separate passage for Massachusetts applicants gives a CAD 73,350–CAD 122,250 USD range; the posting also says salary varies by location and job-related factors.
