Senior BIM Engineer

Role overview

Modeling and coordination

• Develop and maintain Revit models; prepare coordinated 3D models, construction drawings, shop drawings, and documentation.
• Meet LOD, BIM Execution Plan, and project standards; review model accuracy, drawing quality, and design compliance; manage revisions.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP models; conduct clash detection, review federated models, and prepare clash reports and coordination comments.
• Keep teams aligned on approved drawings and models and participate in coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams.

Team and delivery management

• Lead BIM engineers, modellers, and junior staff; allocate tasks, monitor productivity and deadlines, review models, and provide technical guidance.
• Implement standards, naming conventions, worksharing, model management, quality checks, revision control, and corrective measures.
• Support Revit families, templates, schedules, and automation workflows; plan deliverables, track milestones, report risks, and ensure timely submissions.

Required qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Relevant BIM modeling and coordination experience; the header says 7–10 years, while the qualifications section says 4–7 years.
• Strong Revit knowledge and practical Navisworks and multidisciplinary coordination experience.
• Experience managing model revisions, construction documentation, and quality checks; ability to manage deliverables independently and guide junior staff.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Tools and additional qualifications

• The role identifies Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Forma, along with linked models, worksets, shared coordinates, model federation, and clash workflows.
• Experience with residential, commercial, or large-scale infrastructure projects is advantageous.
• Knowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM Execution Plans, familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud or another CDE, and knowledge of Dynamo or other automation tools are advantageous.
• Quantity schedules, model auditing, BIM quality assurance, and construction practices are additional desirable experience.
