Senior BI Developer

Role Overview

Typical Day

• Create complex Tableau dashboards using LOD expressions, multiple data sources, data blending, dynamic parameters, actions, filters, extensions, and performance tuning.
• Use Tableau Desktop, Tableau Web, Tableau Server or Admin, and Tableau Prep.
• Build and publish interactive dashboards and schedule reports through Tableau Server.
• Create dual-axis, waterfall, forecasting, and time-analysis charts.
• Develop and maintain MicroStrategy reports, documents, dashboards, and objects.
• Create free-form SQL reports and troubleshoot SQL issues.
• Apply row-level security and user filters to restrict data for specific users.
• Create database tables, views, procedures, triggers, and functions using T-SQL.
• Work with data warehousing and ETL tools or processes.
• Translate business requirements into deliverables and design software solutions.
• Perform gap analysis across as-is and to-be conditions.
• Manage team responsibilities and collaborate with stakeholders.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or engineering degree.
• 5 to 8 years of experience as a BI Developer.
• Hands-on experience creating, publishing, and maintaining Tableau dashboards.
• Hands-on experience creating MicroStrategy reports.
• Ability to work in a global environment across possible time zones.
• Willingness to learn analytical tools and automation processes.
• Ability to understand processes and perform gap analysis to standards.
• Very strong English communication, negotiation, and self-driven project skills.
• Exposure to supply chain processes is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Tableau dashboard development, publishing, maintenance, and performance tuning.
• MicroStrategy report, document, dashboard, and object development.
• SQL, debugging SQL, and T-SQL database object development.
• Data warehousing and ETL tools or processes, including Alteryx, Informatica, or DataStage.
• Snowflake experience is advantageous.
• Tableau ASK DATA and NLP exposure is advantageous.
